Vitamin B17 (Nitrilosides) i förebyggande syfte

- Bönor: svarta (låg), fava (hög), black-eyed peas (låg), kikärtor (låg), kidney (låg), linser (medium), lima (låg), mung (medium/hög).
- Nötter: Bittermandel (hög), makadaminötter, cashewnötter.
- Bär: Nästan alla vilda bär. vilda björnbär (hög), boysenbär (medium), lingon (hög), tranbär (låg), fläder (medel/hög), krusbär (medium), blåbär (medium), mullbär (medium), vilda hallon (medium), jordgubbar (medium), vinbär (hög), kvitten (medium).
- Fröer: chiafrö, linfrö, sesamfrö.
- Gräs: alfalfa (hög), vattenkrasse (låg), Johnsongräs, Sudangräs, vetegräs.
- Korn: havregryn, korn, råris, bovete, hirs, råg, vete.
- Övrigt: spenat (låg), hortensia, idegran.
- Knölar: Maniok (hög), sötpotatis (låg), jams (låg).
- Skott: alfalfa (medium), bambu (medium), fava (medium), kikärtor (medium), mung (medium).
- Hög – över 500mg av nitriloside per 100 gram livsmedel
Medium – över 100mg av nitriloside per 100 gram livsmedel
Låg – under 100mg av nitriloside per 100 gram livsmedel

Två tumregler: Enligt Dr Krebs är den grundläggande principen att man får ett tillräckligt dagligt B-17 genom att följa något av följande förslag: |
- Ät inte mer frön från frukter än vad du skulle ha ätit om du åt hela frukten också. Dvs, man äter inte ett halvt kilo äppelfrön.
- En persika- eller aprikoskärna per 5 kg kroppsvikt anses vara mer än tillräckligt för att förebygga cancer. Det exakta antalet kan dock variera från person till person i enlighet med individuella metabolism och kostvanor. En man som väger 80 kilo kan till exempel äta 16 aprikos eller persikokärnor per dag och få en biologiskt rimlig mängd av vitamin B-17.
Och två viktiga anmärkningar: Visst kan du konsumerar för mycket av någonting. Alltför många kärnor eller frön kan ge obehagliga biverkningar. Dessa naturliga livsmedel bör konsumeras i biologiskt rationella mängder (inte mer än 30 till 35 kärnor per dag).
